Overview
Most small and medium businesses come to us with the same three problems. The infrastructure is sized for the busiest day of the year and paid for every day of the year. There is no tested way to recover if something fails. And keeping it running depends on one person knowing how it works.
We fix all three in one engagement. Applications move onto Amazon ECS on AWS Fargate so capacity follows demand instead of being provisioned for the peak. Databases move to Amazon RDS with a standby in a second Availability Zone and automatic failover, so patching, backup and failover become the service's job rather than yours. Work that arrives in bursts is moved off the main path using Amazon SQS, so a busy period queues rather than slowing everyone down.
What makes this repeatable is that about 80 percent of the build is templated. The network, security baseline, guardrails, encryption keys, monitoring and deployment pipelines deploy from AWS CloudFormation templates we have used on every engagement. The remaining 20 percent is yours: the sizing, the integrations, and anything that has to talk to a system we are not moving.
A typical engagement runs fourteen to twenty-two weeks from start to go-live. Before anything goes live there is a written go or no-go review signed by our CTO and by you. Go-live happens in a window you agree, with the rollback path written down before we start. Afterwards you receive an operations runbook written for your system, a walkthrough of every procedure in it with your team, and a quarterly review of how the platform is performing against the measures you signed off at the beginning.
AWS services and products this offering relates to: this service implements, migrates to and operates AWS services including Amazon ECS, AWS Fargate, Amazon RDS, Amazon VPC, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon S3, Amazon SQS, Amazon EventBridge, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, Amazon ECR, AWS Key Management Service, AWS Secrets Manager, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Backup, AWS WAF, AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, AWS Identity and Access Management and AWS Organizations. It also supports deployment and operation of Finlake by SoftGEM, our Cloud-Native Core Banking Platform listed on AWS Marketplace.
You hold your own AWS account throughout and AWS bills you directly for infrastructure at list price. SoftGEM does not resell AWS infrastructure and adds no margin to it. Any AWS infrastructure cost is separate from the professional services charges transacted through AWS Marketplace.
