Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for support on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 running on ARM-based AWS instances. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each rate maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your cost follows the instance you choose. Options span general-purpose (m-series, a1, t4g), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series, x-series), storage and I/O-focused (i-series, im4gn, is4gen), and graphics (g5g) families. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. Metal (bare-metal) variants are also available. You add the support charge on top of your normal EC2 usage costs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover, and does it include the underlying EC2 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux costs?
The hourly rate covers vendor support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 on ARM-based instances. You pay it on top of your normal AWS EC2 usage charges. The support charge is separate from the compute you run and follows the specific instance type you select.
Am I charged the support rate when an instance is stopped or paused?
The support charge meters by the hour against a running instance. When an instance is stopped, it does not accrue running-hour charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply while stopped, but the software support rate meters active running time only.
Why does the price differ between instance types, and what happens if I resize my instance?
Each rate maps to one EC2 instance type. Larger sizes and specialized families carry higher hourly rates. If you switch to a different instance type, billing moves to that type's rate automatically for the hours you run it. Your cost tracks whichever instance you choose.
