Xops

My main use case for Xops  is to check for any anomalies in terms of my cloud FinOps management spending and bills, and daily, I also run security scans on my cloud infrastructure.

Apart from my main use case, I also use other features of Xops , especially for cybersecurity, to scan my websites and domains, as well as conduct DAST scans to fix any security vulnerabilities. Additionally, I run monthly compliance scans focused on CIS and ISO 27001.

Xops helps me with cloud finance management by allowing me to monitor my spending, and just a couple of months ago, I noticed that my AWS  bill, which usually hovers around 50k monthly, spiked unexpectedly. I received an alert on the dashboard and via email about a sudden increase in usage, enabling me to rectify the actual problem and bring things back to normal.

The best features of Xops, in my experience, include the FinOps component for checking unnecessary spending trends, the cloud security features, and the cybersecurity and workload security features that allow me to frequently check for vulnerabilities on images and websites.

The cloud security feature of Xops stands out to me because it helps maintain compliance status by providing multiple compliance checks, including ISO and CIS benchmarks, and it is not limited to AWS , as it also includes Azure  cloud scans and O365 cloud scans, allowing me to monitor security across various platforms.

Other useful features of Xops include asset management tools and automation scripts, which help me check what assets I have across all regions, giving me a global view whenever I need it.

Xops has positively impacted my organization by enabling me to save money and proactively detect issues, especially related to cloud spending, while also improving my routine security checks for any misconfigurations. While some metrics are difficult to quantify, I regularly run scans to catch security vulnerabilities that may arise due to changing user settings.

I do not have any major pain points with Xops at this time as it looks good overall.

One small improvement I observed could be made to the AI assistant within Xops to make it more interactive for users.

I chose four out of five because I believe more UI enhancements and a cleaner UX navigation could elevate it to a perfect five.

I have been using Xops for the last 15 months.

I estimate that Xops has helped me save around $5,000 per month on cloud spending by detecting issues mid-month. On the security side, I caught a misconfiguration where the root account was accessed in the past 90 days, so I secured it using hardware MFA.

I did not purchase Xops through the AWS marketplace; I purchased it directly.

Deploying Xops in my AWS environment is pretty simple, with no issues encountered.

My experience with the configuration process of Xops is very good; it is straightforward and I did not run into any challenges.

Xops integrates very well with other AWS services I use; it operates on a Terraform-based integration, allowing me to run the template which automates the process seamlessly.

I would recommend that everyone try out Xops, especially since there is a free trial available, and I believe once they experience it, they will subscribe to the advanced version.

I found the interview to be useful, but I suggest making it more interactive, particularly with the AI voice aspect, to enhance the smoothness of the discussion.

I use X-Ops to monitor and optimize AWS  infrastructure costs for our trading workloads. It helps me ensure continuous security compliance and real-time threat detection.

Additionally, I automate deployments and asset tracking to maintain operational efficiency.

X-Ops has significantly improved our organization by streamlining cloud cost governance and enhancing the security posture across our AWS  trading environment.

It has provided clear visibility into asset usage and enabled proactive incident response.

The AI-driven insights have also reduced manual overhead and improved decision-making.

I would like to see built-in anomaly detection for trading patterns using machine learning.

It would also be helpful to have customizable dashboards for each business unit.

Native support for cross-account resource dependency mapping would be a valuable addition as well.

I have used the solution for 2 years.

I previously used a combination of open-source tools and native AWS services.

I switched to X-Ops because it offered unified visibility, AI-driven insights, and automated remediation across FinOps and SecOps—features I couldn’t achieve efficiently with my previous setup.

I recommend ensuring you fully understand the pricing tiers and the features included at each level.

You should evaluate it based on your actual cloud usage and security needs. X-Ops offers strong ROI if used across FinOps, SecOps, and automation.

I also suggest checking if a trial or proof of concept is available before committing.

I evaluated other solutions such as CloudHealth  by VMware, Microsoft Defender for Cloud , and native AWS tools like AWS Cost Explorer  and Security Hub.

However, X-Ops stood out for its seamless multi-cloud support, AI-powered automation, and integration across FinOps, CloudOps, and Cybersecurity in one platform.

X-Ops is a powerful platform when integrated across teams—FinOps, CloudOps, and SecOps alike.

To get the most value, I ensure that my teams are trained on its automation and AI capabilities.

I regularly review its recommendations to continuously optimize cost and security.

I primarily use the solution for AWS  optimization.

Xops  streamlined our multi-cloud security management by providing unified visibility across AWS  and Azure  environments. The automated compliance monitoring reduced our manual security audits by 60%, allowing our team to focus on strategic initiatives rather than repetitive checks.

The AWS cost optimization features have been game-changing - particularly the automated detection of idle EC2  instances and unattached EBS volumes that were silently draining our budget.

While Xops  delivers on core functionality, the platform could benefit from more mature AI models for anomaly detection. We've seen false positives in cost spike alerts. 

The UI needs refinement for better drill-down capabilities into specific cost centers. 

For the next release, native support for GCP would make this a true multi-cloud solution, and adding automated remediation workflows beyond just detection would significantly reduce manual intervention.

I've used the solution for one year.

I did not previously use a different solution. 

In our case, the platform paid for itself within three months through identified cost optimizations alone.

Ask about volume discounts for larger environments and whether they offer consumption-based pricing. Be sure to factor in the reduced need for multiple security tools and the labor savings from automation when calculating total value.

I did not really evaluate other options. 

I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. 

We use the solution for cloud security and cost savings.

Xops helped us mitigate the frequent external attacks that we have trying to curb for a long time now. More importantly, it helps with an easy-to-understand dashboard where I can monitor the services in use, optimizations, and ultimately the costs.

The most valuable aspects of the solution include the Cloud FinOps Dashboards and the vulnerability scans.

I do not have notes for improvements.

We were using AWS directly, however, Xops brought in much-needed expertise to manage the services in an optimal manner and also improve the security.

The solution is the perfect fit for companies that operate in our scale.
