    Overview

    Lineate builds and operates complete AWS hosting platforms for web applications. We have delivered production infrastructure across healthcare AdTech (private EKS clusters with WAF-protected ingress), global EdTech (multi-region EC2 deployments serving users in the US, Korea, and UAE), and enterprise e-commerce (monorepo of 20+ sub-projects with Terraform-managed multi-environment deployments).

    How an Engagement Works

    Typical engagements run 4-12 weeks depending on scope and follow a phased approach:

    Phase 1 - Discovery and Architecture Design (Weeks 1-2) We assess your application stack, traffic patterns, compliance requirements, and team workflows. Deliverable: Architecture Design Document with recommended AWS services, networking topology, and CI/CD strategy.

    Phase 2 - Infrastructure Build (Weeks 3-6) We implement the approved architecture as 100% Terraform IaC, deploy CI/CD pipelines, configure observability, and provision all environments. Deliverables: Terraform codebase, Helm charts, pipeline configurations, and working dev/QA environments.

    Phase 3 - Production Launch and Hardening (Weeks 5-8) We migrate or deploy your application to production, validate security controls, run load tests, and finalize monitoring dashboards. Deliverables: Production environment, operational runbook, and incident response playbook.

    Phase 4 - Steady-State Operations (Ongoing) We operate and maintain the platform - patching, scaling, cost optimization, and incident response - so your team can focus on product development.

    Architecture and AWS Services

    • Compute - Containerized (Amazon EKS): Private EKS clusters with managed node groups, private API endpoints (VPC-only access), and IAM-based access control. Horizontal Pod Autoscaler-ready manifests for stateless services. Proven with NestJS backends, Next.js frontends, and microservice architectures.
    • Compute - Instance-Based (Amazon EC2): Multi-region EC2 deployments with custom AMIs built via Packer + Ansible. Suitable for Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, and legacy application stacks. Auto-scaling groups with health checks.
    • Networking and Security: Terraform VPC modules (public/private subnets, NAT Gateways, IGW, route tables). AWS WAF with managed rule sets on ALB ingress. ACM-issued TLS certificates. Security groups with least-privilege allowlists.
    • Load Balancing and CDN: Application Load Balancers with AWS Load Balancer Controller (for EKS) or classic ALB configurations. Amazon CloudFront for global content delivery and static asset acceleration.
    • Databases: Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL) with Multi-AZ, KMS encryption, automated backups, and private subnet placement. ElastiCache (Redis) for caching and task queues.
    • CI/CD and GitOps: ArgoCD with app-of-apps pattern for Kubernetes deployments. GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins pipelines for build, test, scan (Trivy), and publish. Docker images and Helm charts stored in Amazon ECR. Ephemeral environments provisioned on-demand via Terraform for feature branch testing.
    • Secrets and Configuration: AWS Secrets Manager as the source of truth. External Secrets Operator syncs into Kubernetes namespaces. IRSA for fine-grained AWS access from pods.
    • Observability: CloudWatch for infrastructure and container logs. Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, APM) for distributed tracing and custom dashboards. Grafana for infrastructure monitoring.
    • DNS: Amazon Route 53 with ExternalDNS for automatic record creation.

    Prerequisites and Scope Boundaries

    What you provide: AWS account access (or we help you create one), application source code in a Git repository, and a technical point of contact with IAM admin permissions.

    What is in scope: Web applications on AWS using EKS or EC2 compute, relational databases, caching layers, CI/CD pipelines, and observability.

    What is out of scope: Bare-metal infrastructure, on-premises deployments, non-AWS clouds, and application code development (we deploy your code, not write it).

    Engagement Support

    A dedicated Lineate Delivery Manager is assigned to every project and serves as your primary day-to-day contact. They organize and supervise work for all team members, attend all ceremonies, and resolve blockers as they arise.
