Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Usage instructions
GETTING STARTED
- Launch this instance using m5.2xlarge (recommended minimum) or larger. This is a resource-intensive image with multiple development tools installed - smaller instance types are not recommended.
- To enable CloudWatch monitoring (CPU, memory, disk metrics + error logs), attach an IAM role with the AWS-managed policy "CloudWatchAgentServerPolicy" when launching the instance. Without this role, the server will run normally but monitoring data will not appear in CloudWatch.
- Connect via Remote Desktop (RDP):
- In the EC2 Console, select your instance, choose "Connect" > "RDP client"
- Retrieve your Windows password using the key pair you selected at launch
- Connect using username "Administrator" and the retrieved password
WHAT'S INCLUDED
VS Code, Git, Node.js LTS, Python 3.12, Terraform, kubectl, Azure CLI, Android Studio, Flutter SDK, and AI agent development tools (CrewAI, LangGraph, MCP SDK, Anthropic SDK, OpenAI SDK, JupyterLab) are all pre-installed and ready to use immediately after login.
SECURITY RECOMMENDATION
The default security group allows RDP (port 3389) from any IP address for initial ease of access. We strongly recommend restricting this to your own IP address or corporate VPN range immediately after launch, via the EC2 Security Groups console.
