Overview
This service moves production databases from on-premises environments or self-managed instances on Amazon EC2 to managed AWS database services, reducing operational burden while improving scalability, availability, and long-term maintainability. Engagements are delivered by AWS-certified architects and are scoped around a single objective: a predictable cutover with no data loss and the shortest downtime window the workload allows.
Migration Approach Every engagement begins with a compatibility assessment and risk analysis of the source environment, covering schema objects, stored procedures, data types, dependencies, and performance baselines. From there the team defines a migration plan and cutover strategy, provisions the target environment, executes schema and data migration using AWS Database Migration Service, and validates results in staging before production cutover. Rollback criteria are defined and agreed before any production change is made.
Modernization Options Beyond a like-for-like migration, engagements can include modernization toward managed database services, serverless architectures, or container-ready designs, so the resulting environment reduces manual provisioning and scales with demand instead of with headcount.
AWS Services Used Engagements are delivered across Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS), AWS Schema Conversion Tool, AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK), AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Key Management Service (KMS), Amazon VPC, and AWS Backup.
Deliverables Customers receive a compatibility and risk assessment, a migration plan with cutover strategy and rollback criteria, staging and production validation results, an infrastructure as code definition of the target environment, and a post-migration support plan with monitoring and backup recommendations.

Vendor support
Support covers the migrated environment and all changes implemented during the project, including target database configuration, infrastructure as code definitions, monitoring, and backup setup. Knowledge transfer to the customer's technical team is included so the organization can operate the environment independently.
Support is delivered remotely during business hours, in the customer's preferred time zone where feasible. A post-migration support period is defined per engagement in the statement of work, based on workload criticality and cutover complexity. Extended or managed support arrangements are available on request.
