Data Lineage: Understanding the origin and transformation of data is essential for maintaining data quality and compliance. Data Lineage tools provide detailed insights into the data lifecycle, showing how data moves and changes over time. This transparency is critical for auditing purposes and helps organizations identify the source of data issues quickly. Data lineage capabilities also support impact analysis, allowing businesses to understand the potential effects of changes to data processes.
Data Product Hub: Watsonx.data intelligence facilitates secure and efficient data sharing within and outside the organization. Data Sharing tools ensure that the right data is accessible to the right people while protecting sensitive information. It helps streamline data sharing by automating the delivery of data products to data consumers across the organization. It breaks down silos by connecting to disparate source systems to simplify the onboarding of reusable data products, no matter where the data resides. Organizations gain data lifecycle management capabilities to manage data-as-a-product and cost-effectively deliver fit-for-purpose data and analytics products to data consumers. By promoting a culture of data sharing, organizations can foster collaboration, drive innovation, and accelerate decision-making.
IBM watsonx.data intelligence as a Service offers the following tiers: Trial, Essentials, Standard and Premium.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
Monthly limits include 1 instance, 3,000 Discovered Data Assets, 800 Business Terms, 60 Capacity Unit Hours, 3 Data Source Definitions, 10,000 Tables, 100 Data Product Subscriptions
This listing uses contract pricing built around two resource units. The Essentials unit sets monthly limits on what you can use, such as one instance, 3,000 discovered data assets, 800 business terms, 60 capacity unit hours, 3 data source definitions, 10,000 tables, and 100 data product subscriptions. The second unit is an overage charge tied to the Premium tier. You incur it only when you consume more contracted resource units than your commitment allows. Together, these dimensions let you commit to a base allotment and then pay extra when your usage exceeds that allotment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Discovered Data Asset within the Essentials monthly limits?
A Discovered Data Asset is a catalog item the platform finds and labels through automated metadata discovery. This includes tables, files, and other structured or unstructured sources it scans. Each scanned item counts toward your 3,000 monthly cap, separate from the 10,000 table limit and other resource counts.
What happens to my bill if I use more than my contracted Essentials limits?
When your usage exceeds the contracted resource units in the Premium tier, you incur the separate overage charge. It applies only to consumption above your committed allotment. Usage within your Essentials monthly limits does not trigger this charge. The overage bills for the extra units, not your whole allotment.
Which limits in the Essentials unit typically drive my resource consumption?
The Essentials unit sets several independent caps: instances, discovered data assets, business terms, capacity unit hours, data source definitions, tables, and data product subscriptions. Each cap is tracked separately per month. Whichever limit you approach first governs whether you need more capacity or incur overage charges.
