tiger Rating is an API-first insurance rating and pricing engine. Configure products, rate tables and pricing rules without code, return quotes in real time at high volume, and deploy alongside any existing core system across motor, property, health, specialty and embedded lines.

    Overview

tiger Rating: API-first insurance rating and pricing engine

tiger Rating is a cloud-native rating and pricing engine from tigerlab. It centralises product definition, rate tables and pricing logic in one configurable service and exposes them through a documented API, so quotes can be served consistently to every channel: agent and broker portals, direct digital journeys, embedded partner integrations, call centre systems and underwriting workbenches.

tiger Rating is designed to be adopted independently. It runs alongside existing core insurance systems rather than requiring their replacement, which makes it a practical first step for insurers that need pricing agility before they are ready to modernise policy administration.

    Capabilities

Product and rate configuration: define products, coverages, options, limits, deductibles, rating factors, tables and algorithms through a no-code interface, without engineering involvement or a software release.

Real time quoting API: return premium calculations in real time at high transaction volume, supporting single quote, multi option comparison and bulk or batch rating.

Versioning and effective dating: maintain multiple rate versions with future effective dates, so scheduled rate changes, campaign pricing and regulatory filings can be prepared in advance and activated automatically.

Simulation and impact analysis: test proposed rate changes against historical quote and policy data, compare versions side by side, and quantify premium and portfolio impact before publishing.

Rules and referral logic: apply eligibility rules, underwriting referral thresholds, authority limits, minimum premiums, loadings, discounts and commission structures as configuration rather than code.

External data enrichment: call third party and internal data sources during rating, such as vehicle, address, credit, telematics or exposure data, and use the results as rating factors.

Multi line, multi currency and multi jurisdiction: support motor, property, health, personal accident, travel, commercial, specialty and embedded product lines, with tax, levy and jurisdiction rules held as configuration.

Audit and governance: retain a complete record of every rate version, configuration change and quote calculation, with the inputs and factors applied, to evidence pricing decisions to internal audit and regulators.

    Why tiger Rating

Pricing agility is usually limited by release cycles rather than by actuarial capability. By moving product and rate definition into configuration, tiger Rating shortens the path from a pricing decision to a live rate, which matters most in price transparent and price competitive markets. Because it is API-first and core agnostic, it can be introduced incrementally, one line of business or one channel at a time, and it removes duplicate pricing logic maintained separately across portals, digital journeys and partner integrations.

    Built for the cloud

tiger Rating is cloud-native and deployed on AWS, using managed compute, database, caching and networking services to deliver low latency quoting, elastic capacity for campaign and renewal peaks, high availability and disaster recovery at predictable operating cost. tigerlab is an AWS Partner Network member and supports SaaS, dedicated tenant and customer account deployment models to meet data residency and regulatory requirements.

    Compliance and security

tigerlab maintains SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, and tiger Rating supports GDPR and DORA obligations alongside local insurance regulatory requirements.

    Who it is for

Insurers, MGAs and underwriting agencies, brokers and embedded insurance providers that need faster product and pricing change, consistent rating across channels, or a modern rating capability in front of a legacy core system. tiger Rating can be deployed standalone or as a component of the tiger Suite modular insurance platform.

    Highlights

    • API-first rating engine that works with any core system. Deploy tiger Rating alongside existing policy administration, portals and partner channels to serve real time quotes over a documented API, without replacing the systems you already run.
    • Change rates without a release cycle. Business teams configure products, rate tables, factors and pricing rules through a no-code interface, with version control and effective dating so rate changes and regulatory filings ship in days rather than months.
    • Test pricing before it goes live. Simulate rate changes against historical quote and policy data, compare versions side by side, and keep a full audit trail of every rate version and quote decision for internal audit and regulatory review.
