You pay by the hour for listmonk based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run it on. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute resources you select. Options span burstable general-purpose families (t2, t3, t3a) for lighter or variable workloads and steady general-purpose families (m3, m4, m5, m5a, m5d, m5n, m5dn, m5ad, m5zn, m6i, m6a, m6id, m6in, m6idn) for consistent demand. Within each family, sizes range from small to very large. Larger instances add more CPU and memory, raising the hourly rate. You pay only for the hours you use.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate for each instance type cover?
Each hourly rate maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of the size you pick. The rate reflects that instance's CPU and memory. You pay per hour the instance runs. The software comes bundled with the libraries, databases, and runtimes needed to run, so no separate setup is required.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply to stopped instances, but those are billed by AWS separately, not by the software metering.
How do I change my cost if my workload grows?
Cost changes when you switch to a different instance type. Moving to a size with more CPU and memory raises the hourly rate. Moving to a smaller size lowers it. You pick the instance size at launch, so scaling is a manual choice, not automatic.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Listmonk is a self-hosted, single-binary newsletter and mailing list manager - subscribers, lists, campaigns, transactional email API, templates, and analytics in one Go binary. Unlike bare Listmonk AMIs that ship with a public-facing admin UI, no super-admin user, and PostgreSQL listening on 0.0.0.0, this Lynxroute build is ready out of the box: super-admin user with unique password generated at first boot, admin UI bound to loopback and reachable only through Nginx with TLS, PostgreSQL bound to 127.0.0.1, UFW firewall pre-configured, and a CIS Level 1 hardened Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base.
