What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get one running AWS EC2 instance of the size you pick. Each hosts the same REST APIs for ML-DSA signatures and ML-KEM key exchange. The instance types differ in compute, memory, and CPU family. Your choice sets how much processing capacity backs the microservice, not which cryptographic features you receive.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue per hour while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage charges for attached volumes. Billing meters running time only, so cost grows with how long you keep the instance on.
How do I move to a different instance size if my workload changes?
You launch the instance type that matches your needs. To change capacity, you stop the current instance and start one of a different size. Each type bills at its own hourly rate. There are no feature tiers, so switching size changes only compute capacity and the hourly cost, not the APIs available.
