Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the hardened Rocky Linux 8 image on ARM64 (Graviton) instances. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance size, so pricing is not a set of tiers. Instead, you pick the instance type that fits your workload, and the hourly rate scales with that instance's size and family. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and high-performance families, from small sizes up to bare-metal configurations. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. This software fee is separate from the AWS infrastructure charges billed for running the instance itself.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a maintained Rocky Linux 8 image hardened for ARM64 (Graviton) instances. It ships with a security configuration baseline organized around PCI DSS requirements, monthly patched releases, an expedited critical-update path, a per-image evidence pack as published, and US-based product support.
The hourly software fee meters running time only, so a fully stopped instance does not accrue this charge. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes. Those AWS infrastructure charges are separate from the software fee shown for each instance type.
Two charges combine on the same bill. The hourly software fee for the hardened image is one part, set by the instance type you pick. The AWS infrastructure charge for running that instance is the other. Both meter per hour and add together while the instance runs.
