Mobile application penetration testing services (iOS/Android)

     Info
Mobile application penetration testing for iOS and Android by CREST-accredited engineers. OWASP MASVS-aligned testing of apps, APIs and backend.

    Overview

What is mobile application penetration testing?

    Prices starting at $6,000.

Mobile application penetration testing is a manual security assessment of iOS and Android apps, their backend APIs, and client-server communications. Researchers identify exploitable weaknesses and provide practical remediation guidance.

Blaze's penetration testing services  assess mobile-specific risks alongside authentication, authorization, business logic, and backend security.

Mobile app pentesting for iOS and Android

We test native and cross-platform apps, including Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Java, Flutter, React Native, Ionic, Xamarin, and Cordova. Supporting APIs and AWS environments can be included in scope.

Blaze is a CREST-accredited company. Our researchers hold certifications including OSCP, OSWE, OSCE, and CRTO. Testing draws on OWASP MASVS, OWASP MASTG, OWASP Mobile Top 10, and PTES.

Assessments combine static analysis, reverse engineering, and dynamic testing using tools such as MobSF, Frida, Objection, Burp Suite, JADX, and Ghidra. Findings are manually validated before reporting.

    Assessment scope

Testing is tailored to your application's architecture, functionality, and threat model:

    • Authentication, sessions, OAuth/OIDC, SSO, and biometric flows
    • Authorization across users, roles, and tenants
    • Sensitive data in files, logs, caches, backups, Keychain, and Keystore
    • Cryptography, key handling, and hardcoded secrets
    • TLS, certificate validation, and pinning
    • Permissions, interprocess communication, and deep links
    • Reverse engineering, tampering, and runtime manipulation
    • Privacy controls and unintended data exposure
    • Backend APIs, business logic, and tenant isolation
    • Source-code-assisted review and supporting AWS configuration, where included

Resilience controls are assessed in context: bypassing pinning or root detection alone does not necessarily establish a vulnerability.

Assessment effort typically ranges from 5 to 25 person-days, depending on platforms, complexity, and scope. Testing dates and report delivery are agreed before work begins.

    Deliverables

    • Executive summary explaining key risks and business impact
    • Technical report with scope, methodology, validated findings, and reproduction steps
    • Severity ratings, remediation priorities, and correction guidance
    • Relevant mappings to OWASP MASVS and OWASP Mobile Top 10
    • Signed attestation letter documenting assessment scope and completion
    • Re-test and free fix validation within 90 days of the final report

Final reports arrive within five business days of assessment completion.

Where scope and requirements overlap, evidence may support SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and vendor security reviews. Testing does not replace each framework's separate obligations.
