AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is billed per instance-hour and tied to the Arm-based EC2 instance type you choose. The many dimensions listed here map directly to specific instance sizes across families such as t4g, m8g, c8g, r8g, x8g, i8g, and hpc7g. Smaller sizes like t4g.nano cost less per hour than larger sizes like x8g.metal-48xl, so your rate scales with the compute, memory, and storage the instance provides. Each dimension includes the same Ubuntu Pro Minimal 22.04 LTS image with CIS hardening; only the underlying hardware differs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
You pay the hourly software rate only while an instance runs. Stopped or paused instances do not accrue Ubuntu Pro software charges. Underlying AWS resources like attached storage may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software meter counts running instance-hours only.
What do I get for the hourly charge on each instance type?
Each hourly rate covers the Ubuntu Pro Minimal 22.04 LTS image with CIS hardening running on the Arm-based EC2 instance you select. This includes expanded security patches, kernel live patching, FIPS-certified components, and CIS benchmark auditing tooling. The rate scales with the instance's compute, memory, and storage.
If I run several instances at once, how does my bill add up?
Each running instance is metered separately at the hourly rate for its instance type. Charges from multiple instances add together on the same invoice. Running more instances, or larger instance types, raises your total. There is no shared pool or bundled quantity across instances.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

For Ubuntu Cloud Guest it is suggested to manually configure your Security Group/Firewall settings. The 1-Click Security Group opens only port 22 so that you can access your instance via ssh using login 'ubuntu'. If you chose the 1-Click Security Group, you may change it later to enable applications using the AWS Console or API.
