This product includes the latest, minimally installed CentOS 7 and CentOS Stream 9, which support dual-boot, and you can choose the default operating system as needed.
The default OS boot entry is CentOS Stream 9. You can connect to the instance via the serial port and select the desired OS by using the arrow keys in the GRUB screen of the instance boot.
This product uses UEFI-Preferred boot mode by default. If the instance (e.g. t2) does not support UEFI boot mode, it uses BIOS mode.
The two operating systems are installed in different LVM partitions, which are not automatically expanded by default, you need to expand them manually.
In addition to the minimally installed operating system itself, this product includes the following components:
- Amazon SSM Agent.
- EC2 Instance Connect (Only CentOS 9).
- sysstat, telnet, parallel, pigz and other common tools.
