Camino Node is free software, so you pay no license fee to the vendor. The dimensions listed are AWS EC2 instance types you can run it on, billed by the hour. Pricing scales with the compute size you pick. Smaller instances (such as t3.small or t3.medium) cost less per hour than larger ones (such as xlarge families) with more CPU and memory. Compute-optimized (c-family), memory-optimized (r-family), general-purpose (m and t families), storage-focused (i and d families), and GPU-based (g and inf) options each suit different workloads. You choose the instance that fits your node's resource needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The Camino Node software carries no license fee. The hourly rates you see are the underlying AWS EC2 compute charges for the instance type you select. You pay AWS for the running instance, not the vendor for the software. Larger instances with more CPU and memory cost more per hour.
Hourly compute charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops the per-hour compute charge. You may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes and any allocated resources while the instance is stopped. Software charges remain zero at all times.
Match the instance family to your node's resource needs. Compute-optimized (c-family) suits CPU-heavy processing. Memory-optimized (r-family) suits large in-memory data. General-purpose (m and t families) balance both. Storage-focused (i and d families) suit high disk throughput. GPU options (g and inf) suit accelerated workloads. You choose one.
