    Overview

    • Review of existing architecture : understand the app's current architecture, its requirements as well as usage patterns, define your igration strategy (re-hosting, re-plaforming, refactoring)
      • Deliverable: Architecture diagram and migration plan
      • Duration: 1 week
      • Optional: review using the AWS Well-Architected Tool
    • Infrastructure as-code deployment: seize the opportunity of the AWS migration to take advantage of modern infrastructure management (as-code, immutable, automated) enabling you to deploy in a reliable and reproducible way the successive versions of the application, in production as well as in test environments.
      • Deliverables: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation templates to deploy the underlying, integration in your CI/CD pipeline (Github Actions, Gitlab CI or AWS CodePipeline)
      • Duration: typically 1 - 3 weeks
    • Migration execution : rehost your application and migrate its data
      • Deliverable: data migration using AWS Database Migration Service, AWS Datasync, and your application binaries/code (if not built in an ECR image or AMI via a CI/CD pipeline) with AWS Application Migration Service.
      • Duration: typically 1 day, service interruption limited to 1h
