Armorbytes Ubuntu 22.04 LTS image enforces Level 1 security controls that are compatible with the Center for Internet Security® (CIS) Benchmark. Armorbyte is not affiliated with or certified by CIS; the benchmark is referenced solely as an industry standard. Additional hardening disables unused daemons, enforces strong SSH policies, and schedules automated security updates.
The baseline maps to the NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, giving teams a proven starting point toward compliance without the usual DIY effort.

You pay by the hour for a hardened Ubuntu 22.04 server image, billed per running instance. Pricing is not tiered by feature; instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type. Your cost scales with the compute size you choose. Smaller general-purpose types like t2 and t3 sit alongside compute-optimized c5a, memory-optimized r5 and r5a, and general-purpose m5a and m6a families. Sizes range from micro up to 16xlarge. Larger instance types carry higher hourly rates because they provide more CPU and memory. You match the instance to your workload.

You get a pre-hardened Ubuntu 22.04 server image running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The image is configured for security benchmarks including PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, and STIG. Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance, so you pay per instance-hour of that size.
Software charges accrue per running instance-hour. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue hourly software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped. The software meter counts running time only.
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate. Your total is the sum of all active instance-hours across every size you run. Larger instance types carry higher hourly rates because they provide more CPU and memory. Running more instances or larger sizes raises the bill.

Usage instructions
Allow inbound SSH access in your security group (TCP port 22) To connect to your instance using the Amazon EC2 console: Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .
In the navigation pane, choose Instances.
Select the instance and choose Connect. Choose the EC2 Instance Connect tab. For Connection type, choose Connect using EC2 Instance Connect. Access the ec2 with the default username: "ubuntu"
