Overview
ESET PRIVATE Scanning Solutions is a set of antimalware scanning components developed by ESET spol. s r.o., designed to detect malware, spam and phishing. It leverages two complementary scanning methods: static scanning (fast scan) and dynamic scanning (deep scan), each optimized for different threat scenarios.
By default, the solution is configured to perform static scanning using ESET PRIVATE Static Scanning Engine, which is designed to detect threats with high speed and efficiency. Scanner analyzes file source code and metadata using a combination of malware signatures detection, advanced heuristics and machine learning models. Multiple detection layers allow rapid and reliable identification of malware based on recognizable patterns and behaviors. As a result, files scanned statically are classified as clean or malicious, with a corresponding threat name and category if malware is detected.
ESET PRIVATE Static Scanning Engine is available in self deployed version at AWS Marketplace with free trial.
For deeper inspection of unknown or never-before-seen threats, ESET PRIVATE Static Scanning Engine can be extended with ESET PRIVATE Dynamic Scanning Engine (available as an optional component). ESET PRIVATE Dynamic Scanning Engine evaluates file reputation using ESET cloud-based reputation system and executes the file in a secure sandbox to observe its behavior in real-time. This behavioral approach allows detection of complex, evasive, or obfuscated threats that may evade static methods, and it generates a comprehensive behavioral report for each analyzed file.
For the most advanced threat scenarios, combining static and dynamic scanning ensures multilayered protection, delivering the speed of signature based detection alongside the deep behavioral insight of dynamic scanning.

Dimensions summary
This listing uses a single usage-based dimension. You pay by the container hour, measured as the number of hours the scanning containers run. There are no tiers, instance sizes, or add-on options to choose from. Your cost scales directly with runtime: the more hours your containers stay active, the more you pay. If you run more containers or keep them running longer, your total rises in proportion. This billing tracks actual consumption rather than a fixed subscription or upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One container hour is one hour that a scanning container stays active. Billing tracks the running time of each container. If you run several containers at once, each one accrues its own hours. Your total is the sum of hours across all active scanning containers during the billing period.
Charges apply only while your scanning containers are actively running. Fully stopped containers do not accrue software hours. The meter tracks runtime, so pausing or shutting down containers stops the software charge. Underlying AWS infrastructure fees for storage may still apply separately and are billed by AWS.
The scanning engine covers common desktop and server operating systems and detects mobile-platform malware. It scans files and containerized workloads, fitting container and microservices environments. You run it as a managed cloud service, an on-premises container, or in air-gapped setups — on your own hardware, on AWS, or another cloud provider.

Usage instructions
Deployment overview:
- This product can be deployed in AWS Marketplace as a self-service container-based solution for Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
