Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this software on. Every dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, and the software cost is billed per hour of use. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately. Pricing scales with the instance you pick. Smaller general-purpose types like t3.medium or m5.large cost less per hour. Larger compute, memory, storage, and GPU-focused types such as c7i.48xlarge, x2iedn.32xlarge, or p5.48xlarge cost more per hour. You choose the instance that matches your performance and workload needs, then run it as long as needed.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one hour of one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The charge covers the pre-configured LibreChat software on Ubuntu 24.04. It does not include AWS compute, storage, or network fees, which AWS bills separately. Third-party AI provider API costs are also separate.
The software fee meters per hour while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached disk may still apply while the instance is stopped. You resume charges when you start the instance again.
You are not locked to one type. To change size, stop the instance and relaunch on another supported type, or deploy a new instance. Billing then follows the new type's hourly rate. Smaller general-purpose types bill less per hour; GPU and large memory types bill more.
