Overview
Why governed knowledge decides how far Amazon Quick goes
Amazon Quick gives people and agents one place to ask questions, build workflows, and act on enterprise data. As companies take Quick beyond their first teams, security, compliance, and data leaders ask the same questions before they sign off: whose data can an agent see, will two people asking the same question get the same answer, and who is accountable when an agent acts. D8:Platform answers those questions underneath Quick, inside your own AWS account, so the decision to go company-wide is easier to make.
What D8:Platform adds to Amazon Quick
- Governed data from a plain-language request: A user asks in Quick. D8:FLOW proposes a plan, a person approves it, and D8 agents ingest, clean, catalog, and govern the data before it returns to Quick.
- Every agent accountable: Agentic Capital Management™ (ACM) registers each agent with an owner, a purpose, a risk tier, and explicit grants before it reaches governed data, tools, or APIs.
- Consistent answers: D8:CAT builds a catalog and knowledge graph with business descriptions and relationships, so the same entity means the same thing across systems that never agreed.
- Work that repeats, runs on its own: Recurring requests become scheduled pipelines in your account, reviewed by the people responsible for them.
How it works
D8:Platform connects to Amazon Quick through a single Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, added to Quick as an integration. Each of the eight D8:Platform agents runs in its own container on Amazon ECS in your AWS account. D8:FLOW orchestrates each request and deploys repeatable work as AWS Glue jobs and AWS Step Functions workflows through the AWS CLI or Terraform. Outputs land in raw, cleansed, and consumption layers in your Amazon S3. Every action runs under the requesting user's AWS IAM permissions, with human approval of the plan, the mapping, the code, and the results. In testing, a 90-word request in Quick produced a governed, cataloged dataset in about 23 minutes.
Built for regulated industries
- Financial services: recurring regulatory reporting as reviewable pipelines with a record of every run.
- Insurance: agent registration and classification-aware access before a company-wide Quick rollout.
- Healthcare: answers that keep protected health information out of what a role doesn't need.
- Energy and manufacturing: one answer across systems that track the same asset under different identifiers.
Security and compliance
- In your account: agents, pipelines, and data stay in your AWS environment. Nothing is copied out to D8TAOPS.
- Identity: every action runs under the requesting user's IAM permissions.
- Data access: D8:SCOUT enforces access controls at the data layer, integrated with AWS IAM and AWS Lake Formation.
- Audit: D8:OBSERVE logs every step end to end for your auditors and examiners.
Buying and getting started
Keep your Amazon Quick subscription and add D8:Platform through AWS Marketplace. Charges appear on your AWS bill, private offers are available for custom terms, and the purchase is eligible to count toward EDP or Private Pricing Agreement commitments, per your agreement. Deploy into your AWS account, add the D8 MCP server to Quick, and D8 engineers work alongside your team on the first pipelines.
Highlights
- Govern Amazon Quick at enterprise scale: D8:Platform connects to Amazon Quick through one MCP connection and prepares, catalogs, and governs enterprise data before people and agents use it. Data governance, a semantic layer, and a knowledge graph run in your own AWS account.
- Agent governance with Agentic Capital Management™ (ACM): every AI agent is registered with an owner, a purpose, a risk tier, and explicit permissions before it reaches governed data, tools, or APIs, with every governance decision logged for audit and compliance.
- Built on AWS and bought through AWS Marketplace: runs on Amazon ECS, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, and Amazon S3 under your IAM permissions. Charges appear on your AWS bill and are eligible toward EDP or Private Pricing Agreement commitments.

D8 Portal for Amazon Quick
- Amazon ECS
Container image
Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.

Usage instructions
D8 Portal for Amazon Quick Deployment Instructions
Thank you for subscribing to this container product. Because the infrastructure template is restricted for privacy, you must use the instructions below to configure and deploy the web portal task manually inside your AWS environment using the AWS CLI.
Step 1: Create a Local Template File
Copy the exact JSON payload below and save it locally on your computer as a file named task-definition.json.
{ "containerDefinitions": [ { "name": "container-portal", "image": "<REGISTRY_URL>/<IMAGE_NAME>:<TAG>", "cpu": 0, "portMappings": [ { "containerPort": 8090, "hostPort": 8090, "protocol": "tcp" } ], "essential": true, "environment": [], "mountPoints": [], "volumesFrom": [], "logConfiguration": { "logDriver": "awslogs", "options": { "awslogs-group": "<CW_LOG_GROUP_NAME>", "awslogs-region": "<AWS_REGION>", "awslogs-stream-prefix": "ecs" }, "secretOptions": [] }, "systemControls": [] } ], "family": "<PRODUCT_NAME>-task", "executionRoleArn": "<ECS_EXECUTION_ROLE_ARN>", "networkMode": "awsvpc", "volumes": [], "placementConstraints": [], "runtimePlatform": { "cpuArchitecture": "X86_64", "operatingSystemFamily": "LINUX" }, "requiresCompatibilities": [ "FARGATE" ], "cpu": "1024", "memory": "3072" }Step 2: Replace Template Placeholders
Open the task-definition.json file in a text editor and replace the following placeholder variables (wrapped in < >) with your actual AWS values:
- <REGISTRY_URL>/<IMAGE_NAME>:<TAG>: The Amazon ECR image path provided in your AWS Marketplace fulfillment dashboard after purchase.
- <CW_LOG_GROUP_NAME>: An existing CloudWatch Log Group name where portal logs will be sent (e.g., /aws/ecs/portal-logs).
- <AWS_REGION>: The target AWS region string where you are deploying (e.g., us-east-1).
- <PRODUCT_NAME>: A custom name string for your task identity (e.g., my-web-portal).
- <ECS_EXECUTION_ROLE_ARN>: The full IAM Role ARN that allows the ECS agent to pull images and push logs (must include standard AmazonECSTaskExecutionRolePolicy permissions).
Step 3: Register the Task Definition
Ensure your AWS CLI is authenticated to the correct target account. Execute the following terminal command to register the task:
aws ecs register-task-definition --cli-input-json file://task-definition.jsonStep 4: Run the Task on AWS Fargate
Launch your portal container as a standalone task or within an ECS service. Execute the following CLI command (replace the network subnet and security group IDs with your own VPC details):
aws ecs run-task \ --cluster default \ --task-definition <PRODUCT_NAME>-task \ --launch-type FARGATE \ --network-configuration "awsvpcConfiguration={subnets=[subnet-xxxxxxxx],securityGroups=[sg-xxxxxxxx],assignPublicIp=ENABLED}"Support
