Tabsdata is free software, so you pay no license fee for the product itself. Your cost comes only from the AWS EC2 instance you run it on, billed by the hour. Each dimension names a specific EC2 instance type, grouped into families like t-series burstable, m-series general purpose, c-series compute, and r-series memory-optimized machines. Sizes range from nano and large up to 48xlarge and bare-metal options. Larger sizes give more CPU and memory and cost more per hour. Pick the instance that fits your workload; hourly billing scales with the instance you choose.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The software is free, so what am I actually paying for on each hourly dimension?
You pay the hourly rate for the AWS EC2 instance that runs Tabsdata. The software itself carries no license charge. Each dimension is one EC2 instance type, billed per hour it runs. The rate reflects the CPU, memory, and storage of that machine size, not any product fee.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software rate. Attached storage may still incur standard AWS storage fees while the instance is stopped, but the hourly meter counts running time only.
Since prices vary by instance, what drives the difference between the dimensions?
Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type. The instance family and size determine the rate. Compute-optimized (c-series), general purpose (m-series), memory-optimized (r-series), and burstable (t-series) families differ in CPU and memory balance. Larger sizes, up to 48xlarge and bare-metal, carry more resources and higher hourly rates.
