Pragma is a fully extensible backend game engine that enables multiplayer and live service games. Our features include matchmaking, cross-platform accounts, social, meta game features, live operations, monetization, telemetry, and analytics.
Pragma was founded by the engineering leaders who built platforms for some of the largest live service games including League of Legends, Fortnite, Destiny 2, and Plants vs. Zombies 2. Pragma powers services including accounts, matchmaking and player data for the worlds most ambitious live service games.
The Pragma Backend Game Engine is the only solution that is truly extensible. Now, game designers are not blocked by restrictive black box features and your studio is not trapped into a framework that you'll inevitably grow out of. The Pragma Backend Game Engine is also capital and resource efficient because studios no longer need to hire a large backend team and get the ultimate peace of mind that comes with knowing their game will always be ready to scale.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing has one pricing dimension: the Pragma Platform, billed by Pragma CCU (concurrent users). You pay under a contract based on how many players are connected to your game at the same time. Cost scales with player activity, so your bill rises and falls in step with concurrency. This gives you access to the backend platform, managed hosting, analytics, and product support in a single agreement.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one Pragma CCU for billing?
A Pragma CCU is one concurrent user — a player connected to your game at the same moment. Your bill reflects peak or measured concurrency, not total registered accounts. Ten thousand signups with two hundred players online at once count as two hundred concurrent users for metering.
How does my cost change as my playerbase grows after launch?
Cost scales with concurrent player activity. When more players connect at the same time, your usage rises and your bill follows. When concurrency drops, usage falls. Managed infrastructure stays right-sized to your live playerbase, so you pay in step with actual game activity.
What is included alongside concurrent-user access under this contract?
The contract covers the backend platform with access to every service and the source code, managed hosting that scales from development to launch, analytics dashboards and telemetry, and product support from engineers. Hosting includes monthly cloud credits applied to your managed infrastructure costs.
