    Additional details

    Usage instructions

IMESH Envoy Gateway OSS is deployed as a Helm chart on an existing Amazon EKS cluster. Version 1.7.2 has been validated on Amazon EKS 1.36.

    Prerequisites

    • Active AWS Marketplace subscription
    • Existing Amazon EKS cluster
    • AWS CLI, kubectl, and Helm installed
    • AWS permissions to access EKS and pull Marketplace artifacts
    • No IRSA is required for the standard deployment

    1. Configure EKS access

aws eks update-kubeconfig --region us-east-1 --name <EKS_CLUSTER_NAME> kubectl get nodes

Verify required worker nodes are Ready.

    2. Authenticate to the registry

    aws ecr get-login-password --region us-east-1 | \ helm registry login --username AWS --password-stdin \ 709825985650.dkr.ecr.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

    Confirm Login Succeeded.

    3. Install

    helm install eg \ oci://709825985650.dkr.ecr.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/imesh/imesh-envoy-gateway-oss \ --version 1.7.2 \ --namespace envoy-gateway-system \ --create-namespace

    Verify:

helm status eg -n envoy-gateway-system kubectl get pods -n envoy-gateway-system kubectl get deployments -n envoy-gateway-system

Required pods should become Running and Ready.

    4. Configure and verify Gateway traffic

Configure standard Kubernetes Gateway API resources: GatewayClass, Gateway, and HTTPRoute.

The standard GatewayClass name is envoy-gateway.

    Verify:

kubectl get gatewayclass kubectl get gateway -A kubectl get httproute -A

    For troubleshooting:

    kubectl describe gateway <GATEWAY_NAME> -n <NAMESPACE> kubectl describe httproute <ROUTE_NAME> -n <NAMESPACE>

Confirm the Gateway is Accepted/Programmed and the HTTPRoute is Accepted.

    5. Monitoring

    kubectl get pods -n envoy-gateway-system kubectl logs -n envoy-gateway-system -l control-plane=envoy-gateway kubectl get events -n envoy-gateway-system --sort-by=.lastTimestamp

Envoy Gateway exposes Prometheus-compatible metrics. No Amazon CloudWatch resources are created automatically.

    6. Security and data

IMESH Envoy Gateway OSS does not persist customer application data or send application data, telemetry, or diagnostics to IMESH.

No IMESH API keys, passwords, or license keys are required.

TLS certificates and private keys are stored as Kubernetes Secrets. Customers are responsible for securing and rotating certificates and Secrets.

    7. Upgrade

    helm get values eg -n envoy-gateway-system -o yaml > eg-values-backup.yaml

    Upgrade:

    helm upgrade eg \ oci://709825985650.dkr.ecr.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/imesh/imesh-envoy-gateway-oss \ --version <TARGET_VERSION> \ --namespace envoy-gateway-system \ -f eg-values-backup.yaml
