Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The eight options are all instance types, not feature tiers. Each carries the same software capabilities, so your choice affects compute capacity and hourly cost, not what the tool can do. Smaller shared-core types like t2.micro, t3.medium, t2.medium, and t3.large suit lighter workloads. General-purpose types m4.large, m5.large, m5.2xlarge, and m5.4xlarge scale up in CPU and memory for heavier use. You add EC2 infrastructure charges on top of the software rate. Billing runs on usage, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the DbGate software license for the instance type you run. You also pay standard AWS EC2 infrastructure charges for that instance separately. Both appear on your AWS bill. The software license meters running time, so the rate reflects the instance size you select.
The software charge meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the DbGate license bills only while the instance runs. You stop or start instances manually to control cost.
