Overview
SSGLite is a streamlined version of the Melrose Labs SMPP SMS Gateway (SSG) platform, offering core messaging capabilities with reduced administrative functionality and limited to processing SMS at up to 30 SMS/sec. Designed as an SMPP-only solution, SSGLite in this standalone, single server configuration, enables organisations and service providers to operate an SMS gateway service using the robust infrastructure of the Melrose Labs platform, while omitting non-essential features for simplified operation.
Built upon an AWS cloud architecture, SSGLite retains the powerful messaging capabilities of the full SSG platform, including support for high-throughput SMS delivery and reception via the SMPP protocol. The system includes access to the SSG Administration Portal, with functionality focused on core messaging operations. Features related to billing, financial management, the marketplace, and auxiliary tools have been removed to streamline the user experience.
SSGLite is well-suited for organisations seeking a dedicated SMS switch, either to launch a mobile messaging business, enhance internal communication systems, or replace legacy infrastructure with a more reliable and scalable solution. Customers can interact with the system via SMPP, while service providers can manage routing and supplier connections using the available administrative tools.
Increased scale and redundancy is achieved by migration from SSGLite to the SSG's on-premises version.
The platform's design supports prepay and postpay models, allowing monetisation of messaging services without the operational complexity of the full SSG offering.
In summary, SSGLite provides a focused, efficient SMS gateway platform that delivers the essential components required for reliable and scalable messaging, tailored for users who do not require the full suite of features offered by the standard SSG platform.
