Overview
INFIO, developed by Cornerstone Consulting Group, simplifies complex SQL Server migration assessments in AWS. While it initially focused on assessments for SQL Server to Babelfish for Aurora PostgreSQL, INFIO has evolved to support a broader range of modernization needs. It now includes assessment capabilities for migrating SQL Server workloads to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion services. Additionally, INFIO evaluates T-SQL compatibility for Babelfish migrations and identifies unsupported features to guide planning. The platform also analyzes .NET Framework applications for compatibility with .NET Core, helping organizations map out application modernization strategies. Unlike traditional tools, INFIO approaches assessments through a comprehensive migration lens providing deep technical and financial insights to support confident decision-making.
Highlights
- Assessment output provided in a matter of hours rather than weeks or months using manual techniques.
- Focused on the migration feasibility and not just the code compatibility
- Includes assessment of .NET Framework applications for compatibility with .NET Core, enabling a comprehensive view of both database and application modernization paths.

Powered by AWS, INFIO delivers a scalable and reliable foundation that enhances migration efficiency while offering detailed technical and financial insights—empowering organizations to confidently execute their modernization strategy.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
Version release notes
Release 3.0 of INFIO comes with a comprehensive set of enhancements including new non-supported category, database-wise non-supported feature list, prioritized DDL display, assessment report download, dynamic EC2 region detection, advanced reporting, targeted info extraction, support for SQL server 2016, enhanced user experience and bug fixes from previous release. Usage instructions
To connect to the INFIO EC2 instance , use RDP and the username Administrator. Application is GUI based and contains necessary instructions to operate. During the deployment of the INFIO tool on an EC2 instance using CloudFormation, it is essential to create an IAM Role and IAM Policy. These are required to enable the EC2 instance to securely interact with various AWS services, such as S3, Secrets Manager, and KMS, for secure file operations including encryption and decryption.
