Alpine Linux on AWS

Alpine Linux is a security-focused Linux distribution designed for power users who value simplicity and resource efficiency. Built on musl libc, BusyBox, and OpenRC instead of glibc, GNU Core Utilities, and systemd, Alpine delivers a minimal yet powerful foundation for production workloads on Amazon EC2.

This AMI contains the base Alpine Linux distribution, ready to deploy on AWS.

1. Launch an EC2 instance using this AMI with capacity suitable for your workload
2. Connect to the instance over SSH using the default username: alpine
3. Use the apk package manager to install the packages your workload requires
