Overview
BDRSuite Backup for AWS is a comprehensive cloud-native agentless backup and recovery solution for your AWS EC2 instances. Packed with a variety of features, it serves the need for all businesses be it big or small. Needless to mention, AWS in itself comes with security features and it adopts a shared responsibility model in which they protect the data by providing security to their cloud but the customers are responsible for the security of data residing in the cloud.
This means even if AWS offers manual snapshots, you still need a complete solution for backup, versioning, archiving, retention and recovery to protect your EC2 instances from data threats in the cloud ranging from accidental file deletion to malware. This is when the Vembu Backup for AWS can be incorporated into your data center protection plan.
You can add the target AWS account to the Vembu Backup for AWS web console. This will enable you to schedule backups ensuring a near-continuous data protection strategy for your EC2 instance.
The APIs from Amazon are employed to backup and restore the EC2 instances by leveraging its snapshot technology. This process of backup is performed by Vembu Backup for AWS without the need of an additional agent being installed in every EC2 instance.
Not just the entire instance recovery, but also the volumes and files can also be individually chosen for recovery when the need appears in times of unexpected disasters.
Highlights
- Agentless cloud-native backup for your EC2 instances using AWS APIs. Experience Near-Continuous Data Protection(CDP) of your EC2 instances running on any region by automatically scheduling backups on a minute, hourly, daily or weekly basis.
- Ensure application-consistent backups of the instances running Microsoft applications like Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Active Directory. You can also run the custom scripts automatically before or after backing up your EC2 instances
- Recover only the required volumes by attaching them to target instances or recover the entire EC2 instances by registering a new AMI Image that you can either deregister after recovery or leave it registered to create future instances.
