You pay by the hour for a pre-configured Docker on Ubuntu 18 image. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, and you pick the one you deploy. Your hourly software rate follows the instance you choose, so smaller instances cost less per hour and larger ones cost more. The list spans many families, including general-purpose (t, m), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z), storage (d, i), and accelerated (g, p, inf, trn) instances. You run only what you launch, with no upfront commitment.

What does the hourly rate cover, and what does one instance-hour include?
The rate covers the pre-configured Docker on Ubuntu 18 software running on the AWS EC2 instance type you launch. One instance-hour is one hour of one running instance. The software charge scales with the instance family and size you pick. AWS charges its own infrastructure fees separately.
Am I charged when I stop or pause an instance?
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still owe underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volume while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
If I switch to a different instance type, how does my hourly cost change?
Your software rate follows the instance type you run. Move to a smaller instance and the hourly rate drops; move to a larger one and it rises. The change takes effect when the new instance starts. You are billed only for whichever type is actively running.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
1. Connect to the instance via SSH:
Once your instance is running, connect to it using an SSH client with the private key you configured during launch.
The default username for Ubuntu-based instances is ubuntu.
After logging in, use sudo to run commands that require root access.
3. Test Docker installation:
To verify that Docker is installed and running properly, run the following command:
sudo docker run hello-world
This will pull the hello-world image and run it, displaying a message indicating that Docker is working correctly.
