Logs, traces and metrics - from local to prod

    Overview

See exactly what your apps and LLMs are doing, while you code. Built on open standards (OpenTelemetry), Pydantic Logfire offers native AI integrations - from LLM API calls to agent frameworks. Plus comprehensive observability for any workload, AI or not. Pydantic Logfire delivers entire application traces, logs and metrics, not just the LLM calls. You'd be surprised how often the slowdown is found in the seams between tools. You want full visibility, from network calls to database queries to third-party APIs. Take the guesswork out of debugging, catch bugs as you code. Pydantic Logfire is a window into the inner workings of your application. Smooth to set up and easy to understand, with ready integrations for many popular libraries. Query your data with full Postgres-flavoured SQL - all the control and (for many) nothing new to learn. Even if you don't like writing SQL, LLMs do, so SQL plus an MCP server lets your IDE use Pydantic Logfire as a window into your app's execution. Search for obstacles and opportunities, as you (or the AI) write code. Pydantic Logfire is built on OpenTelemetry, which you'd expect for a modern observability tool. What you might not expect is how verbose it can be to work directly with OTel's SDKs, compared to our custom streamlined and ergonomic SDKs for Python, Rust and Typescript. Plus, our SDKs make the live view more powerful, like rendering spans before they've completed. Visibility is more than classic Observability. Beyond DevOps and responding to incidents, for quality over time, you also want integrated analytics. You should be able to use the same view to see exceptions and why a customer downgraded. Or see a chart of payment volume in the same dashboard that shows you a chart of API response times. Pydantic Logfire is flexible and powerful enough to do both, so you can understand your code and visualise its impact.

    Highlights

    • Logfire Observability provides real-time traces, logs and metrics.
    • First class support for AI applications (LLM traces, evals)
    • Incredible Developer Experience

    Dimensions summary

You choose from three options based on how you want to run and pay for the platform. Logfire Pro bills by usage: you pay per million logs, spans, and metrics you send, with a set amount of free usage included each month. Logfire Enterprise Cloud is the hosted option with added compliance and support features; pricing is custom, so you contact the vendor. Enterprise Self-Hosted lets you deploy in your own cloud for full data control, also with custom pricing. Pro scales with volume, while both Enterprise options are quoted to fit your needs.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

One unit is a single record you send to the platform: a log, span, or metric. A span is one row in a trace, a log is one event record, and a metric is a datapoint. You are charged per million of these combined records.
You keep an included amount of free usage each month. Once you pass it, additional records bill at the per-million rate. You can also set a spending cap; when reached, new telemetry is held from view but still captured up to a threshold. Email the vendor to set a cap.
Enterprise Cloud is fully managed by the vendor with custom retention, SSO, and support. Enterprise Self-Hosted deploys a Helm chart in your own cloud for full data control, and you run the infrastructure. Both carry custom pricing, so you contact the vendor for a quote fitting your usage.
