WSUS on Windows Server 2019
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) enables admins to deploy the latest Microsoft product updates to your computers and servers on your network both in AWS and on-premise.
WSUS server provides features that you can use to manage and distribute updates through a management console. A WSUS server can also be the update source for other WSUS servers within your organization. The WSUS server that acts as an update source is called an upstream server. In a WSUS implementation, at least one WSUS server on your network must be able to connect to Microsoft Update to get available update information.

You pay by the hour for this WSUS Server 2019 software, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type. The instance you choose sets the CPU, memory, and hardware profile behind the software. The hourly rate covers the WSUS Server 2019 software licence on your chosen EC2 instance type. AWS bills the underlying compute, storage, and data transfer separately. So your total cost combines the software rate plus standard AWS infrastructure charges for that running instance.
The hourly software rate meters running time. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the software charge. You may still pay AWS storage fees for the attached volumes while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
