What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance size?
You get a preconfigured Terraform environment running on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. The Terraform CLI and core components come preinstalled. The instance size you pick sets the CPU and memory available to run infrastructure automation tasks. Larger sizes handle bigger provisioning workloads.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Software charges meter running hours only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped. You resume software charges when you start the instance again.
Can I switch to a different instance size later, and how does that change my bill?
Each instance size bills at its own hourly rate. To change size, you deploy or resize to a different instance type. Your hourly software charge then follows the new size. You are billed for hours used at whichever size runs at that time.
