Varnish Custom Statistics (VCS) is a real-time statistics engine allowing you to aggregate, display and analyze user web traffic, for enhanced decision making and optimization of your Varnish web caching operations. VCS is extremely flexible, allowing you to define the grouping of statistics easily using Varnish Configuration Language (VCL). Whatever traffic you want to analyze, VCS can capture the relevant data, from page popularity to device type. VCS requires a Varnish Enterprise subscription: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/search/results?x=0&y=0&searchTerms=varnish+enterprise

Try this product free for 14 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you run this software on. The 32 dimensions map to specific instance sizes across the m3, m4, t2, i2, i3, r3, and r4 families. Each family targets different resource profiles, such as general-purpose, memory-optimized, or storage-optimized workloads. Within a family, hourly rates scale with the instance size, from small up to larger multi-core options. You select the instance that fits your traffic and performance needs, and billing accrues per hour of use with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get the Varnish Custom Statistics software running on the AWS EC2 instance size you pick. Each dimension maps to one running instance. The software collects real-time traffic and cache performance metrics from your Varnish servers and presents them as time-series statistics.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance running this software is stopped?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while stopped, but the software meters running hours only.
How do I choose between the different instance families and sizes?
Each family targets a different resource profile: general-purpose, memory-optimized, or storage-optimized. The statistics server holds the main database, UI, and API, so pick a size matching your data volume and query load. Larger sizes within a family cost more per hour.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
