Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for Composer running on Ubuntu 24.04, with maintenance support included. Pricing is billed per hour based on the EC2 instance size you select. The 21 options map to standard AWS instance types across several families. Burstable t2 and t3 types range from nano and micro up to 2xlarge. Your hourly rate scales with the compute, memory, and family you choose. You can run any instance size for as long as needed.

The software charge meters running time only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage fees for the volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from the software charge.
Maintenance support is included in the hourly software charge for every instance size. You do not pay a separate line item for it. The rate you see for each instance type already covers the support the vendor provides.
