Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the Amazon EC2 instance type you run. The software cost is the same across all instances; your price changes with the compute size you pick. Options range from small burstable instances like t2.nano and t3a.micro up to larger general-purpose, memory-optimized (r7a), and GPU or inference instances (g3, g4ad, inf1, i4i). Smaller instances suit light workloads. Larger instances handle heavier compute, memory, or graphics needs. You choose the instance that fits your workload and pay only for hours used, with no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly charge covers one running Amazon EC2 instance of the type you select. The instance comes pre-provisioned with the LAMP stack software. Instance type sets the CPU, memory, and any GPU or inference hardware. You pay for each hour that instance runs.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software hours. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the software meters running time only.
Cost equals your hourly rate multiplied by hours run, added across every instance you launch. Running two instances bills both independently on the same invoice. The instance type you pick sets the rate; the number of running hours drives the total.
