You pay by the hour for each running instance of Zilla Plus for Confluent Cloud. Pricing scales by the EC2 instance type you choose to run the software on. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance size, from small shared instances up to large memory-, compute-, and GPU-optimized machines. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates because they provide more compute and memory. Your total cost depends on which instance types you select and how many hours you run them. You deploy inside your own AWS environment on EC2, ECS, or Fargate.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the software, billed per hour by the instance type you select. You pay software charges only while an instance runs. Stopped or terminated instances stop accruing software charges, though underlying AWS storage or reserved resources may still incur separate AWS fees.
How do I decide which instance type dimension to pick?
You match the dimension to the compute and memory your workload needs. The gateway runs as a stateless proxy, so you can add or remove instances without coordination. Higher-capacity instance types handle more concurrent connections and throughput but bill at higher hourly rates.
If I run several instances at once, how does that affect my bill?
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate for the instance type it uses. Your total is the sum of all active instance-hours across every dimension you deploy. Running more instances, or larger instance types, raises the total. You can scale instances up or down as demand changes.
