Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute power you select. Options span several instance families. The T-family (t1, t2, t3, t3a) covers burstable general-purpose sizes from nano through large. The M-family and R-family offer general-purpose and memory-focused sizes. The C-family and c8i-flex sizes target compute-heavy work, while i7i sizes add storage capacity. Larger instances cost more per hour. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly unit covers one running EC2 instance of the size you pick. The rate bundles the preconfigured Django appliance with the underlying compute. You pay the software rate plus AWS infrastructure charges per hour. Running two instances bills two hourly rates at the same time.
The hourly software charge applies only while an instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing the software rate. You may still pay AWS for attached storage, such as your root volume. Note that stopped AWS servers can change their IP address when restarted.
Each Marketplace subscription bundles cloud backup, restore, and migration, plus chat and email support for default components. Usage instructions
System initialization
After launch, browse to http://<Public_DNS>/ and complete the first-boot configuration, or connect by SSH using the key pair selected at launch.
Operating system access
Connect using SSH as the Linux user admin with the selected EC2 key pair. Run privileged commands with sudo; this provides full OS-level administration.
Application access
Open http://<Public_DNS>/ in a web browser. The application may redirect to HTTPS after configuration.
