Packaged by Tidal Media Inc. this AMI solution deploying a full-featured, scalable, secure, multi-protocol server for transferring files for your organization.
This solution is an FTP/FTPS/SFTP server that enables users to access remote files over TCP/IP networks such as the Internet. Unlike FTP, FTPS and SFTP protocols provide security and strong encryption of data - great for insecure networks.
SFTP is still commonly used to support long-established business processes and securely transfer files with 3rd party vendors. Use SFTP Gateway as a traditional SFTP server, or to upload these files to AWS storage.

Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance. The many options here are not feature tiers. Each one maps to a different EC2 instance size and family. Smaller t2 and t3 types suit light workloads, while larger m4, m5, and metal types handle heavier data transfer. Your hourly cost scales with the compute, memory, and networking capacity of the instance you select. All options run the same pre-configured FTP/FTPS/SFTP server image, so you choose based on the capacity you need, not on differing features.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the type you pick. You pay for every hour that instance runs, whatever the instance family or size. The rate reflects the compute, memory, and networking capacity of that instance. Multiple running instances each bill separately by the hour.
Hourly software charges accrue only while your EC2 instance runs. A stopped instance does not generate software charges. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the FTP server software meters running time only.
Every instance runs the same pre-configured FTP/FTPS/SFTP server image on Windows Server 2016. It supports file upload, download, and transfer over SFTP, FTP, and FTPS. You set up local users and folder permissions after deployment. Your instance choice affects capacity, not the software features.
