    Overview

    The Remapped Oracle OLA is your first step in developing a business case to migrate your Oracle workloads to AWS. This fully funded assessment will optimize your database estate including Oracle RAC, Exadata and legacy UNIX platforms for AWS.

    We perform a zero impact discovery and automated assessment of your database workloads using the Remapped OLA tool. The assessment delivers a technical and commercial design in the form of an executive report to build out your fully optimized 5-year Oracle TCO including.

    • Summary of your database discovery findings with useful insights.
    • Viable AWS database migration options (EC2, RDS, Oracle Database@AWS).
    • Identified candidate databases to migrate to Oracle Standard Edition or modernize to PostgreSQL.
    • Current state Oracle licensing position.
    • Optimized Oracle database licensing position for each option (used vs owned).

    The Remapped OLA platform provides intelligent migration option designs based on the following:

    • Right sizing workload to select efficient cloud server shapes based on percentile data combined with CPU power rating.
    • Analysis of data repositories used versus required to reduce and optimise license requirements.
    • Assessment of up to 50 Database Freedom factors to identify easy and medium complexity migration targets to PostGres.

    Your Oracle license ownership is reviewed and analyzed to assess portability to AWS and the best options for license optimization, considering:

    • Oracle Enterprise Edition to Oracle Standard Edition migration opportunities. Processor vs NUPs licensing metrics.
    • Oracle database license options (contracted vs used and required).
    • Recasting of Oracle license based on the optimised target architecture.
    • Use of VMware and soft partitioning technologies.
    • Proprietary Application Hosting (PAH) license considerations, critical for ISVs.
