Identity governance has unified access control and now cuts audit workload across the company
What is our primary use case?
We started working with Linx Security as an ISPM. The first reasons were to have visibility into which employees have access to what applications. Within our industry, there were a lot of retail and real estate applications, and we were not able to get a very deep understanding of all our employees accessing them. That was our main initiative at the beginning. As we moved forward, we were also starting to implement the governance side, meaning not only doing the posture but also deciding based on what we have seen from the visibility side if you need access to the application, and we started to take actions, meaning provisioning you as an employee or taking your access away. So it started more in the ISPM front and then added also the governance or IGA front of the platform.
We were using CAD schemas, of course, as part of our work in the real estate market. We wanted to make sure that only a subset of the employees really has access there. We were not really able to do so with the APIs of the application or working through our IDP . The fact that Linx Security could have the connections to the HR system, the IDP , and the applications themselves gave us a very good understanding of that access. That was a big gap when we just started, and that was the leading use case for us to begin with.
The use case I shared was more of the way we started working with them. After we were able to validate the visibility to this scoped amount of applications and we saw the data was correct, we expanded to all the applications in the organization and then also enabled the part where we could really take action and run workflows. Once we did that, which was more or less a year after we started, we had also the workflows managing the joiners, the movers, the leavers in the company, and also contractors as well.
There is an area that we just started working with the team on. It is pretty new to us, and that is around controlling agents in our environment. Once you deploy them, first of all, we want to better understand which employees are deploying agents today. Second, after we understand that, to run the control center, which eventually controls what the agents are accessing.
What is most valuable?
The layer that I hear from my employees the most is pretty recent, I would say, maybe nine or ten months ago. That is the AI assistant, which I mean I am in this industry a long time and I am used to the fact you always need to go and learn query languages and work with professional services to understand pretty basic questions. Today, you can use the platform to run simple text questions. My employees talk about that as a cloud within Linx Security. The ease of use of asking questions and also asking the platform to take action is something that was very new to us. One of the things we were doing with that is automating our user access reviews through a very simple dashboard instead of working on our spreadsheets. That was a big benefit for us in the past year.
It helped me reduce man-hours when it comes to analyzing the access. Once we were starting also to implement the user access reviews, that of course, reduced the man-hours. That is the main area at the beginning. I also got much better visibility on the overall posture of my identities, and I am being asked by auditors or cyber insurance reports to provide where we are on users. That gave me a very good place to be with my board and auditors. I would say reducing the work on my team was significant. There was also a point in time in which we were able to reduce the number of licenses that we are using on some applications, which was also a cost reduction. Nowadays, I mentioned the agents part, we are being asked about our controls around that area. Having a tool that can give some value in these areas gives me a lot of confidence and also our leadership that we are deploying agents in a responsible way.
What gave them the perfect score, and I have been using other platforms in the past, is the fact that I can use one platform to cover humans, non-humans, and now agents. On the cost side, I feel I am making a good financial decision. On top of that, I would say that they are very quick to provide new features, to respond to our tickets. It seems that at least in the past two to three years, they were providing cutting-edge solutions.
What needs improvement?
Overall, I am a happy customer, so I do not have areas to share on areas to improve. I have not found any problem or hesitation on the response. This has been very consistent, so nothing that I could indicate as for now.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Linx Security for around two or three years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
They are great. We are not a huge company, but I have not got any scalability issues with them.
How are customer service and support?
Their customer support is great, and we get to see the founders very often.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
In my career, I got the chance to work with multiple identity solutions. Among them, SalePoint, Saviynt, and Okta IGA .
What was our ROI?
I have seen the improvement. It was less about having fewer employees; it was more about freeing the time of my employees. We had cost reduction on the licensing part. We were not needed now to hire contractors when it comes to the data analysis. We were also able to reduce the hours on ticketing and taking actions as we had workflow automations running in place. I prefer not to share the metric or the amount of money saved.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated ConductorOne , SalePoint, and Lumos .
What other advice do I have?
I believe they are providing us capabilities around AI in a very secured way. Auditors approve their reports, so they go and provide the information to companies such as EY or PWC and others, so it passes that. Them working in a way that is very auditable on their AI usage really helps me because I believe one of the problems within the industry today is that a lot of companies would use AI but there is no real way to know which data was touched and whether my data is really shared with others. I do have the confidence after having multiple discussions with the founders and the technical team, and they walked me through how they do it, that it is governed in a way that does not give me any hesitations about using it. I would just tell them to go for it and also to make sure you talk to them very often to hear about the new things coming and the roadmap. I would rate this review as a ten out of ten.
Identity workflows have been automated and access governance has provided continuous oversight
What is our primary use case?
Linx Security is my main tool for governing and securing human identities and agents. I manage the full life cycle of people joining the company, moving, and leaving, ensuring they have the right permissions. I run workflow automation, which frees my team to work on other tasks, conduct user access reviews, and ensure agents have the right guardrails on what they are accessing.
I leverage the full package from Linx Security , gaining complete understanding of who has access to what through the Access Graph and non-human identities capabilities. The latest addition has been working with the MCPK gateway on governing agents.
What is most valuable?
The Access Graph provides full visibility of who has access to what, and the agent governance features give me visibility on what each agent is accessing. The workflow automations for joiners, movers, and leavers allow me to run any action automatically.
Linx Security recently added Autopilot, which automates monitoring and takes action automatically using agents, essentially functioning as an additional employee.
In my day-to-day operations, I see all sorts of policy drifts as part of how the Autopilot feature works. For example, people who are supposed to get admin rights can be approved or rejected. User access reviews and monitoring are being done automatically and continuously, and I ensure that people leaving the company have all their other access revoked.
Linx Security has positively impacted my organization by providing a much better understanding of who has access to what. It helps me make decisions using user access reviews with auditors, and by running workflow automations, I can significantly reduce the cost and time spent by my engineers.
What needs improvement?
There is nothing I can think of for improvement regarding Linx Security. I would not like to add more about needed improvements regarding Linx Security, as there are no small or wish list features to mention. I have not seen any areas for improvement with Linx Security, even small things.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Linx Security for one year.
What other advice do I have?
Linx Security is deployed in my organization on the public cloud. My advice to others looking into using Linx Security is to use it, as it is a great platform. I give this review a rating of ten out of ten.
Identity governance has become automated and gives full visibility into all human and agent access
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Linx Security is defining our identities, human, and agents. When people join the company, we manage joiners, movers, and leavers. We get full visibility of every employee and where they have access. Not only that, we can see all the agents that are in use and what access they have to what application and data source. It is a full security and governance platform.
How has it helped my organization?
Linx Security has positively impacted my organization by creating a very governed and very secured environment. It has freed our teams to deal with other security and governance topics. We're compliant and we are working with cyber insurance companies which provide the reports. A lot of things are being done automatically, and I know very well my overall risk of my humans, non-humans, and agents.
What is most valuable?
The best features Linx Security offers include an access graph that shows every employee, every agent, every non-human identity, and what connects to them. They don't stop only on showing visibility but also take action. They have workflow automation which works perfectly. On top of that, they just released their autopilot, which is basically an identity agent running in your environment and can take action on your behalf. On top of that, they have their MCP gateway that can control agents accessing anywhere in the enterprise.
The workflow automation has made my daily work easier by replacing a lot of manual work we've been doing. For example, you have an agent, the autopilot, that runs and provisions and de-provisions automatically every admin request. It looks for the context of who asked for it, gives a security risk score, reduces the time that we're spending on it, and frees up time to do other things. We manage contractors and created a just-in-time environment. People that leave the company have workflows running to make sure our posture and governance are how they're supposed to be.
What needs improvement?
I have nothing to improve in the platform. It's really perfect. The product name is Linx Security, spelled L Y N X.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have worked in my current field for seven years. I have been using Linx Security for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Linx Security is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Linx Security's scalability is perfect. It's great and can scale to many employees.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is very quick to respond. They give us excellent support, and we love it.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used SailPoint and moved to Linx Security.
How was the initial setup?
It's been very easy to use. It took us maybe a few hours to connect the platform, and we're very happy with it.
What was our ROI?
I have dramatically saved on return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was that pricing was very fair and they reduced the overall TCO that we have compared to other vendors based on the fact it's so easy to deploy and doesn't really require a lot of professional services.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Linx Security, we looked into Veza and ConductorOne .
What other advice do I have?
Linx Security's AI capabilities, governance, and security are perfect. I find its accuracy and reliability of output to be perfect, and all the data is accurate. My advice to others looking into using Linx Security is to do it today. I give this review a rating of 10 out of 10.
