Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.

Dimensions summary
This contract has two pricing dimensions that work together. You pay a yearly Enterprise platform fee to access the service. You also buy Credits, which cover your check run usage. Credits are consumed as your monitors execute checks. Each check run counts against your credits, so usage scales with how often checks run, how many locations they use, and any retries. The platform fee is a fixed annual charge, while credits scale with your monitoring volume. Together they form a base subscription plus usage-based model billed under one annual commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each execution of a check consumes credits. An API check counts as one run per execution. A browser check counts as one run per execution. A Playwright check suite consumes one run for every 30 seconds of run time. Each retry and each parallel location also counts as a separate run.
Three factors drive credit consumption. Check frequency matters: a check running every minute uses more than one running hourly. Parallel locations multiply usage, since each location counts as a separate run. Retries add runs too, so flaky checks raise usage. Adjusting these settings lets you control how fast credits deplete.
Both charges apply together under one annual commitment. The Enterprise platform fee is a fixed yearly amount that does not change with usage. Credits are separate and cover your check run volume. The platform fee stays constant, while credit cost tracks how much monitoring you actually run.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Checkly is how simple and dependable it feels. It doesn’t overcomplicate anything—you can set up checks quickly and genuinely trust the alerts when they come in. Since I’m managing multiple operations, I really value how much time it saves and how it cuts down on manual follow-ups. The interface is clean and straightforward, and it works well without much of a learning curve, which is a big plus for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels a bit too technical, especially for non-developers. Setting up advanced checks or fully understanding some of the terminology can take time. Pricing can also feel a little high for smaller teams, and having more ready-made templates or locally relevant use-case examples would make it easier to get started quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Checkly helps me make sure critical workflows and systems keep running without issues. Before, we either had to manually check things or only react after something broke. Now we receive real-time alerts, so we can spot and fix problems early—before they affect users or operations. It saves time, reduces stress, and gives me confidence that everything is running smoothly in the background.

Being able to keep our UI in alignment and ensure no regressions in functionality across releases makes it easier for us to be confident in our deployment cadence and keep things moving at a fast pace.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Checkly is its "monitoring-as-code" approach, which fits perfectly into modern CI/CD workflows. The ability to write API and browser checks in JavaScript/TypeScript using Playwright, commit them to Git, and run them globally is a game-changer. It feels like an extension of your development process—not a separate tool you have to babysit.
The integration with Playwright is especially powerful—it allows for deep browser-based testing with rich artifacts like screenshots, traces, and console logs. Checkly also makes alerting simple and flexible with Slack, email, and webhook support, so you always know when something breaks.

While Checkly is powerful, there are a few areas where it could improve. The pricing tiers can feel a bit rigid—especially for growing teams that fall between the limits of Starter and Team plans. More flexible or usage-based billing would be helpful.
Also, while the Playwright integration is great, the learning curve can be steep for teams new to writing tests in code. Some advanced features could use more in-depth documentation or examples.
Lastly, data residency options are limited. For teams with strict compliance needs (especially in the EU), having more control over where monitoring data is stored would be a big plus.

It's so easy to set up, categorise, integrate with e.g. Slack, etc, fast customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
No real downsides that I've found! Perhaps I wish the status page was available on the Team plan - but the public dashboard suffices for us anyways. We're very happy with it!
