Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This contract covers two billing dimensions. You pay for 1Password Business per user per year. The count of users you commit to sets your base cost, so pricing scales with the size of your workforce. The second dimension, True Ups, handles overuse. If you add users beyond your committed count during the term, True Ups bill you for that extra usage. Together, these let you set a yearly commitment and reconcile any growth without changing your contract.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one user for the per-user-per-year billing?
Each person you invite to your 1Password Business account counts as one user. You commit to a user count for the year, and your base cost scales with that number. Access is assigned per user through roles and groups synced from your identity provider.
How does the True Up dimension combine with my committed user count?
Your committed 1Password Business users set the base yearly cost. True Ups bill separately for any users added beyond that committed count during the term. Both appear on your invoice. The committed count usually drives most of the cost, with True Ups covering only extra growth.
What happens to my bill if I add users beyond my committed count mid-term?
Adding users past your committed count triggers True Up charges for that overuse. You do not need to change or renegotiate your contract. True Ups reconcile the extra usage, so you can grow your workforce during the term without disrupting the base commitment.

The simplicity a shared vault brings to my family life is unquantifiable. Having access to everything we need when visiting doctors, traveling, or balancing daily to-do's is worth the price of admission and then some.
