Overview
XACK DNS Zone Editor is a multi-tenant zone file editing program that uses a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for operation to solve the operational burden and increasing management costs of DNS servers, and allows for more intuitive operation and simplified operation procedures.
The features of XACK DNS Zone Editor are as follows.
- Setting permissions for each user and zone Users can be assigned "administrator", "editor" and "viewer" permissions for each zone.
- This makes it possible to transfer zone management permissions to other users.
- Examples of usage scenarios are as follows.
- The information systems department of the headquarters of a major corporate group operates and manages the DNS server, and delegates authority for each zone file to a business division or affiliated subsidiary.
- In university-related cases, the computing center operates and manages the DNS server, and delegates authority for each zone file to a faculty or laboratory.
- Service providers that offer DNS hosting services allow customers to edit zone files themselves.
-
Prevention of human error It is equipped with unique functions that are not included in the "XACK DNS" main body, such as serial update checks of SOA records and syntax checks for each resource record in real time, and by reducing the points that need attention in daily operations, the number of human errors that occur is reduced.
-
Automatic backup when editing zones Every time you edit a zone, a backup is automatically created, and you can restore the zone file from the backup with the push of a button. You can also check and edit the backup contents before restoring.
