You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run YOURLS on Ubuntu 24.04. The 21 options are not feature tiers. Each maps to a different compute size and family. Burstable instances (the t2 and t3 families) span nano through 2xlarge sizes. General-purpose instances (m3, m4, m5) and compute-optimized instances (c3, c4, c5) offer steady performance. Memory-optimized instances (r3, r4, r5) suit memory-heavy workloads. Your cost scales with the size and family you select. Software support runs alongside the instance charge.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get one running EC2 instance of the size you pick, with YOURLS pre-installed on Ubuntu 24.04. The hourly rate covers the software licence and maintenance support. The instance family and size set the CPU and memory you receive, so bigger sizes cost more per hour.
Am I charged the hourly software fee when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software fee meters running time only, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing that hourly charge. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes. You are billed again once you restart the instance.
Does the hourly software charge cover ongoing maintenance and support?
Yes. The hourly rate bundles the YOURLS software licence with maintenance support from the vendor. Support is available around the clock. There is no separate line item; the single hourly charge scales only with the instance size and family you choose.
