    Overview

    Cognizant Digital Tolling Platform offers the smallest infrastructure footprint and the lowest total cost of ownership, all without binding toll agencies on long-term contracts. This modern, modular and integration-ready solution is developed using the AWS serverless application model, leveraging fully AWS managed services. It allows clients to retain their existing roadside interface and selectively add commercial back-office system modules, with the flexibility to pay only for the actual traffic and call volume.

    Cognizant Digital Tolling Platform architecture is completely modularized with clear separation of concerns between modules. The entire platform is driven by APIs/Services which abstract all the capabilities exposed to all the channel applications and external systems. This platform functions as a single application where various business processes interact closely through tightly knit APIs, operating as a cohesive unit. Our central design philosophy for this digital tolling platform guarantees accessible information, compatible systems, and user-friendly experiences for employees, customers, and partners alike. Additionally, the solution includes a roadside integrator module with a pub/sub pattern that easily adapts to existing roadside interfaces, consumes roadside data, and converts trips into billable revenue transactions. Our digital tolling platform is comprised of four key components.

    Core Back-office components where all core functions of toll industry are covered to make life easier for all stakeholders. • From the start, each transaction is verified and classified as either transponder or video-based for appropriate processing. • Billing management then begins with the issuance of the initial invoice, backed with multiple PCI-compliant payment options and automatic replenishment settings. • Account management is streamlined with automated association tools that tie every transaction to an account, transponder, vehicle and customer type (pre-paid or post-paid), for a quick lookup. • In the event of non-payment, a detailed escalation workflow is triggered, including notices, reminders, collections activation, registration stop/release, and judicial review.

    Omni-channel customer engagement makes customer engagement with 360-degree views of all business interaction happened with the toll customer • Self-service portal: Our user-centric portal provides toll users with centralized access to all transactions, contact information, vehicle and transponder information, past payments, and disputes flow. • Our combination of proprietary and Amazon Connect solutions enables a PCI-compliant environment for remote customer service agents. Smart assistance through contextual chatbots on the website enable account-related inquiry tasks, payments, and dispute resolution to offload contact center outreach
