SIOS DataKeeper provides high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) in AWS. Simply add SIOS DataKeeper software as an ingredient to your Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) environment to eliminate the need for shared storage.
SIOS DataKeeper enables SANLess clusters in Windows Server Failover Clustering environments where shared storage clusters are impossible or impractical and adds replication for disaster protection in your SAN-based Windows clusters. Fast, efficient host-based replication synchronizes local storage on local and remote cluster nodes, creating a SANLess cluster in environments where shared storage is impossible or impractical.
Highlights
High availability cluster protection in a cloud environment
Complete Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC) Integration
Automatic failover of application instances across availability zones or regions for disaster protection

SIOS DataKeeper Cluster Edition on Windows Server 2022 - PAYG
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is tied to the EC2 instance type you choose, so the hourly rate scales with the size and family of the instance. Options span many families and sizes, from small instances like m5dn.large up to bare-metal and 32xlarge instances such as x1e.32xlarge. Larger or more resource-intensive instances carry higher hourly rates. This usage-based model bundles the software with the underlying compute, so you add high availability clustering only for the hours the instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually paying for with each hourly instance charge?
You pay for the DataKeeper Cluster Edition software license, metered per hour for each running EC2 instance. This add-on integrates with Windows Server Failover Clustering to create SANless clusters using local storage. The rate covers the software layer bundled with the instance type you select.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped, such as a standby disaster recovery node?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software fees. If you run a second node for high availability or a third node for disaster recovery, each running node bills its own hourly rate. Stopped nodes stop the software meter.
How does the hourly usage model work compared with committing upfront?
This listing meters actual instance-hours with no upfront commitment. Charges apply only while an instance runs, and the rate depends on the instance type you choose. This suits variable or short-term clusters. You add high availability clustering only for the hours the instance is active.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
