Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR)

The Well-Architected Framework Review contains the recommended architected practices through the six pillars for designing and operating cloud systems that are reliable, secure, efficient and cost-effective. The pillars are:

Operational Excellence: The pillar of operational excellence focuses on the organization's ability to support business objectives, execute workloads efficiently, gather information about operations, and continuously improve support procedures and processes to deliver business value.

Security: The security pillar focuses on leveraging cloud technologies to safeguard information, systems, and assets while delivering business value through risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Reliability: The reliability pillar focuses on a workload's ability to perform its intended function accurately and consistently when expected. This includes the system's capability to recovery from infrastructure or services disruptions and mitigate interruptions such as incorrect configurations or temporary network issues.

Performance Efficiency: The performance efficiency pillar focuses on the ability to use computing resources efficiently to meet system requirements and maintain that efficiency as demand changes and technologies evolve.

Cost Optimization: The cost optimization pillar focuses on the ability to operate systems to deliver business value at the lowest cost, maximizing return on investment.

Sustainability: The sustainability pillar focuses on minimizing the environmental impacts of running workloads in the cloud.
