This service bills by usage, with two independent hourly units. The first charges per Kubernetes worker node, per hour. The second charges per resource, per hour, and counts both active and idle resources. A resource can be a virtual machine, Kubernetes node, or storage instance. Your total scales with how many nodes and resources you run and how long they stay provisioned. There are no upfront fees or fixed commitments under this model. You pay only for what you use, adjusting cost as your environment grows or shrinks.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one resource for the per-resource hourly charge?
A resource can be a virtual machine, a Kubernetes node, or a storage instance with a 500GB volume. Each such item is counted separately. Both active and running resources and idle resources are metered under this dimension.
Am I charged for idle resources, such as a disaster recovery site sitting in standby?
Yes. The per-resource hourly dimension meters both active and idle resources. An idle DR resource still accrues charges while it stays provisioned. To stop charges, you remove or deprovision the resource. Cost tracking and pause actions help you manage idle spend.
How do the Kubernetes node charge and the per-resource charge combine on my bill?
The two dimensions bill independently and both appear on the same invoice. Kubernetes worker nodes meter under the per-node hourly rate. Virtual machines and storage instances meter under the per-resource hourly rate. Your total adds both, based on quantity and provisioned hours.
