    Experis Cloud Cost Management Service

     Info
Experis Cloud Cost Management Service (CCMS) helps organizations take control of cloud spending through cost transparency, technical optimization, and sustainable governance. This modular service combines best practices from AWS with FinOps expertise to support everything from initial assessment to continuous cost efficiency. CCMS delivers dashboards, automation, architecture insights, and governance models that align cloud economics with business goals. By combining best practices with AWS tools and services we help customers implement FinOps processes and establish cost transparency, control and efficiency.

    Overview

SKU 1: Maturity Assessment and Strategy This module offers a structured evaluation of your current cloud and cost management maturity, delivering a roadmap for developing a FinOps and cloud financial management strategy. The strategy is tailored to your organizational setup, cloud usage, and business goals.

    Key Activities:

    • Evaluation of maturity across cost visibility, budgeting, governance, and technology
    • Identification of improvement areas in: Architecture and provisioning Budgeting workflows and accountability Cross-functional collaboration (IT, finance, development)
    • Definition of future-state models such as cost-aware architectures and accountable engineering
    • Delivery of a practical, prioritized roadmap for implementation

Applicable AWS services: AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, AWS Billing Dashboard, AWS Cost Categories, AWS Organizations, AWS Pricing Calculator

SKU 2: Cloud Architecture Assessment This module evaluates the technical aspects of your cloud infrastructure to identify architectural decisions and patterns that increase costs. It aims to reduce waste, improve performance, and embed cost-efficiency into engineering practices.

    Key Activities:

    • Review of cloud workloads, infrastructure, and service usage
    • Identification of inefficiencies such as: Overallocated compute/storage Inappropriate service choices Lack of autoscaling or resilience features
    • Evaluation of design principles: Match capacity with demand Use managed services effectively Architect for cost and scale
    • Integration of recommendations with DevOps and CI/CD workflows

Applicable AWS services: AWS Compute Optimizer, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Pricing Calculator

SKU 3: Cost Governance and Control This module introduces a governance framework for effective cloud financial management. It builds accountability, structured budgeting, and cost oversight across departments. The module embeds governance as a lasting function within the organization.

    Key Activities:

    • Deployment of governance models with RACI matrices and defined stakeholder roles
    • Enhancement of budgeting with rolling forecasts, approval thresholds, and scenario plans
    • Standardized tagging for cost attribution across projects and departments
    • Development of chargeback/showback strategies including shared cost modeling
    • Support for aligning org structures with financial accountability
    • Integration of governance into project approvals and financial reporting

Applicable AWS services: AWS Budgets, AWS Budgets Reports, AWS Cost Categories, AWS Organizations, AWS Billing Conductor, AWS Cost Explorer

SKU 4: Cost Insights and Automation This module delivers actionable insights into cloud costs with automation to reduce waste and inefficiencies. It enables real-time control through visualization, analytics, and optimization triggers.

    Key Activities:

    • Dashboards for engineers, managers, and analysts to visualize costs and usage
    • KPI models tied to metrics like cost per workload or per user
    • Detection of anomalies and trends via analytics for early budget risk alerts
    • Automation of shutdowns, resizing, or transitioning to cost-efficient services
    • Enforcement support through tagging policies and anomaly flagging
    • Advisory on applying insights across technical and business teams

Applicable AWS services: AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost Anomaly Detection, AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR), AWS Compute Optimizer, AWS Budgets, AWS Cost Explorer API

SKU 5: Continuous Cost Optimization This module establishes an iterative practice for cloud cost efficiency. It embeds optimization rituals, metrics, and ownership into everyday workstreams to drive long-term financial improvements.

    Key Activities:

    • Setup of monitoring routines with clear scope, cadence, and tooling
    • KPI formulation (e.g., per user, per feature, cost-to-revenue) linked to outcomes
    • Trend and anomaly analysis segmented by team, feature, or region
    • Cost review rituals uniting DevOps, cloud engineers, and finance
    • Accountability through tagging ownership and policy-driven controls
    • Documentation of initiatives feeding into roadmaps, sprints, and budgets

Applicable AWS services: AWS Cost and Usage Report (CUR), AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost Anomaly Detection, AWS Budgets, AWS Compute Optimizer, AWS Trusted Advisor

    Highlights

    • Gain detailed insights into cloud spend, budget deviations, and cost drivers to support accurate forecasting, chargeback, and accountability.
    • Identify inefficiencies in cloud architecture, automate right-sizing and shutdown of underused resources, and improve cost efficiency over time.
