AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This software is free to use, so you pay no license fee to the vendor. Your only charges come from the AWS EC2 instance you run it on. Pricing is billed hourly and organized by instance type. Each dimension is a different EC2 size, from small options like t1.micro and m1.small to larger compute or memory-focused types such as c1.xlarge, m2.4xlarge, m3.2xlarge, and hi1.4xlarge. You pick one instance type based on the CPU, memory, and performance you need. Your hourly rate scales with the size and capacity of the instance you choose.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover for a dimension like m1.small or c1.xlarge?
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance of that size. The hourly charge covers one hour that the instance stays running. You are billed per instance-hour based on the CPU, memory, and I/O the instance type provides. The software itself adds no license fee.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The software carries no license fee, so no software charge applies. Hourly EC2 charges accrue only while the instance runs. If you stop an EBS-backed instance, compute billing pauses, though attached storage may still incur AWS fees. An S3-backed instance cannot be stopped, only destroyed.
If I need more capacity, do I switch instance types or add instances?
You choose one instance type per running server. To get more CPU, memory, or throughput, you launch a larger type, such as moving from t1.micro to m3.2xlarge. Each running instance bills at its own hourly rate. Running several instances multiplies the hourly charges accordingly.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
